Thinking back to our day spent in Venice. Definitely worth more than a 24 hour visit, but that's all we had time for during our trip. It's full of gorgeous canals, touristy carnival masks, and of course --delicious food. Although I couldn't visit every single hot spot in this lovely city, it was definitely enjoyable and I can't wait to return.

Something that photos don't capture - Venice is very crowded and expensive. Most of our time was spent in St. Marks Square, around the beautiful Basilica di San Marco, feeding pigeons and eating pistachio and strawberry gelato. We also checked out Rialto Bridge and did a little shopping. It took us a while to find a good pizza restaurant but with sooo many places to choose from can you blame us!? 😜 We decided on a place named Rossopomodoro, which turned out to be AMAZING. I ate every bite, even the crust!

Gondolas are about 80-100 euros for a trip. We didn't have any time to take one but Venice is very easy to walk through to get to where you want to go! Admittedly, we did get lost a few times but every corner of Venice is just full of color, so we didn't mind taking our time walking around this perfectly Instagrammable (is that a word??) city.

We stayed at the DC hotel by Marriot. There are a TON of Airbnb options though. We preferred to stay close to the city because we had only a short time and really wanted to absorb every minute of being in Venice. I think we got a good glimpse of it and hope to return in the future.

Until next time, Venice!
